Dead dream

Dead dream

A Poem by Jason

This dream of you-
It never really existed
It was like a glare of sunlight
In a pane of glass
And it just faded
Behind the clouds

Meteors had
Held more life
And held more beauty
Than this reverie
As memories burn
Like vapor in the sky

There is no
Water to wash
The bruises
From the land
Or to fertilize
New dreams

There is just
The faded sunlight
And empty seeds
That are planted
Beneath dead trees

This feels like a lost relationship that went on for a long time.

There is justThe faded sunlight
And
Empty seeds
That are planted
Beneath dead trees
