Irises

Irises

A Poem by James Paulin
"

Beauty

"

purple

sophisticated

bevies of haute couture-coiffure

cliques arrive

yellow, blue, peach then whites debut

all fawning in God’s sunlight

(they know)

i got your mail, and i do liked it. thanks for letting me read; i especially searched it just to review. anyway, you captured the flower's beauty, both physical and divine. because of this, i came to love my name. (: i feel good about it now. it would be nice to see irises for real, you know, because ive never seen one. ): great write. thanks for inspiring people. (:

Your last line adds a mystical edge to your poem. The iris is a beautiful flower with the ability to live just about anywhere. Your poem makes me think that we have noticed only the outer beauty of these flowers and a more in depth observation is deserved, especially since "they know".

i have the purple sophisticated and it is my favorite..love the coiffure image,
irises are so sturdy, the best fragrance anywhere, and yet delicate..
great poem.

Very well penned in accurate descriptives for those seeking the limelight~tho~ I find purple(my fave) to be a rather mystical/spiritual color and can be humbling of spirit and soothing to the mind~I suppose it's all one's perspective~ WeLl DonE!
