Passion

Passion

A Poem by James Paulin

Intense views

Consuming purpose

Born and fed with fire

Unconditionally ablaze

Iron will, bone and blood

Heart, mind and soul

Pouring all into a cup

Swallowed in sacrificial deeds

Distinctive screams

Violently defined cries

Clamoring for attention

Equal measures of defiance and desire

Hammer home a message

Repeating it until heard

So loud the deaf take notice

Persistence rattles even closed minds
