Vortex

Vortex

A Poem by James Paulin

can’t

say no.

compulsion

fuels addiction.

lost inhibitions

worn thin by repeat sin,

sliding deep in shame again.

denial or revile awhile.

worship the monkey eating you live

till time slips past the last chance to survive.

An amazing display of language play. It's rare to read precise, increasing meter with internal and end rhyme that just sounds for all the world like someone talking.
