A Poem by James Paulin
"

THE HUITAIN Stanzas : 1 Lines : 8 Syllables : 8 per line Rhyme : a b a b b c b c

"

One little, simple, pecked black spot

contains thoughts when written or read.

Words of power stop for small dots.

Break up long trains with it instead.

This stark mark puts stories to bed.

As a loud shout, it leaves no doubt,

usually said with faces red.

End of bout, try another route.

Humorous, and nicely strung!

Lines 3 and 8 need also to be 8 syllables long. All else is fine and it's a very good poem.

Oh what a creative "Huitain" this is Jim. I've never realised the 'power' of "One little, simple, pecked black spot..." !!

lol smiling here at Nanie's comment....yes, you should do one about a "comma" or even "quotation marks"....the list goes on! lol

Great job!
