Smithy

Smithy

A Poem by James Paulin
"

Inspired by Ed Harts' poem "malleable"

"

from ages past to times we know

strong metal shaped to mans desire

raw iron formed by hammered blow

ore smelted then fashioned by fire

artistry and thought combine

toward ends of  beauty, work or war

.

our purpose lies in such refine

if met with mettle and ardor

So simple, and so much said. Really love this.

Beautiful resonance to Ed's poem. Now, I've had the pleasure to read both.

these things are given, then to now
come fill our hearts with gifts of grace
we listen, learn, and sow and plow
and all the while we keep the pace
