Dream of you

Missing him. A Love poem.

I wish the nights were longer than the days
i could sleep longer and dream of you
in my dreams i see you clearly
ever feature
and crooked smile makes me sleep so good.
as i sink in my pillow with every stroke of your hand on my face
and my hair
my dreams reveal colors that ive never did see before
how i love to dream of you.

As i get closer to  you in dream, daylight comes again and wakes my sweet
slumber.
and so another day comes and i have to labor through to get to
night and sleep away and love my way into your heart again.
this season of you being gone has drained me and just when i think i cant take it anymore
night comes and visits me once more bringing you back into my arms
how i love to dream of you.

I ask God to help me, and strengthen me and think im fine
a love song reveals the secrets of my torn heart
and i have no choice but to unravel it all.
how i long at that very moment to forward the time to be in bed
once more dreaming of you
how i love to dream of you.

the day ends, and at last im along with my torn heart and cold tears running down
my face, its better than driving among the loving and living
they don't know my heart is scattered along the roads
i promised to be strong and promised to be hopeful
but know that in my dreams i am as strong as ill ever be.

My hubby left for almost a month and it was the first time he was gone this long.. i can only imagine army wives will relate to this poem.
