DARLING SONNET

DARLING SONNET

A Poem by FlawedByDesign

DARLING SONNET

I wait for time still, my heart on a string,
Blink of eye or eternity well spent,
'Tis not a nightingale that I hear sing,
But romance of sighs 'er since our eyes met.

This is where I want to be, at arm's length,
Close to the one my heart now petals for,
Thy love pure, gentle sigh to every breath,
Cupid's pawn - I will love you ever more.

Let time go on, sent forth on winds of morrow,
We shall remain here, let our love unfold,
Wait for cherubs their blessings to bestow,
Crowning horizons a bittersweet gold.

I see the skies that sparkle stars of late,
We always knew, 'twas a matter of fate.

I feel as if this poem perfectly describes your relationship. Nice job putting something as complex as love into words.

Such a heartfelt poem, and sometimes in your life, you meet the love and the matter of fate, I know all about... this was utterly beautiful. Thank you for posting, and letting the cafe feel some love.
