Dealing with Death

Dealing with Death

A Poem by Sarah

Pain is in the old mans eyes

For his wife just died

Pain is in the families

Whose soldier didn't come home

The world moves round as we stop

Take a breath and ponder

Those memories are now etched in your mind

For they're all that you have left

No more smiles on Christmas Eve

No more memories to create

You put up your iron barrier

To hold back the tears

You try to say I wont let this affect me

The more we lie to our self's

The more the world becomes tangled.

Sure there is sorrow

For loved ones lost

For ones who died rightfully

And for those who were cheated life

But if we lie are we any better than them

If we beat around bush

Does it hurt less?

Or are we just trying to save our self's

For what's wrong

Pass it off on another

Our hearts get stomped on

Because we let them

Pain and sorrow is a major part of life

It comes all the time

Get on your feet

Get kicked back down

You turn around and there it is again
