Words we speak

Words we speak

A Poem by Sarah

What has it come to?

No words are spoke out of kindness

Only the sneer or the unkind word

What happened to love or the things we fought for

Now we just fight

I can't remember the meaning of a kind word or when of which was spoken

Days filled with dark dreary words

A life not knowing the light

Hate fuels the talk of today

As the words of yesterday lay forgotten in the sand

Ready to blow away

Life is a short trip wouldn't we want to make the most

And forget the least

But the words or gestures of one that are fun

Are another's pain

Why must you slap the arm?

Why must you insult

Why try to hurt another's pride

The outcast of a shadow fills every crevice

With every word spoken in hate

Do we even know the real meaning of life any more?

Or the purpose on why we live

Or is that to forgotten in the sands of time
