Affected Heart

Tribute to all those we've loved and lost.

Sometimes we need to fall

 to great depths 

to climb the heights

 we need to acquiesce 

 

Someone touches our heart

 and wrenches it free 

to soar strong

 emancipate us from our pain 

 

Words can either make or break

 the tranquility, 

the reality of geniality

 an indispensable life force 

People come and go

 throughout our humble lives 

some help us to rise above it all

  leave us affected 

 

That indelible brand 

some people leave upon our soul 

is that eternal sign,

 warmhearted kindness in us all 

We honor the memory

 of people we have loved 

a grateful heart

 better for having shared their lives 

No longer tangible

 in this chaotic frenetic world of real 

Their spirits live on always strong,

 never to be forgotten
