Ill Padre

Ill Padre

A Poem by Frieda P

Everybody knows,
 no one speaks
silence is golden and deadly
you won't live forever

your amoebas' keep chomping at my brain
you've successfully stigmatized my prosperity
your silent sword
has yielded me mute

You'll be gone and I'll live on
coasting along simmering in this shadow
amidst your past
 unforgivable transgressions

Absolution will utterly never be granted

unless you find it in another dimension
if for some inescapable,
irrational reasoning,
you repent
 unspeakable truths,
should penance
forgive your trespasses

IF they shall open the gates of paradise to you

I'd gladly burn in

hell for eternity

An interesting blend of religion, truth and condemnation. Unfortunate, but somehow understandable that you would condemn the innocent to the fires of Hell in the afterlife too. I guess after being licked by flames for so long, you get used to the heat of the kitchen.

There is always a reckoning. Odd to see the final lines a self sacrificing proclamation.
An interesting write.

Strong write, no mincing of words here. To think you would seek out hell if he can enjoy heaven, I don't know who you are talking about but the hate is pretty apparent absolution will definitely not be granted...great hard hitting write this!!

Good poetry and I like the artwork. Made the fire have life with your words. I like when you take me to dangerous places and thoughts. A very nice ending to a excellent poem.

Ah well, the hard work paid off
I've often wondered if he is still alive, but never really wanted to ask...that you would seek solace in hell if he were in heaven says so much. Powerful write, woman.
