Make It A Double

Make It A Double

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Poking fun at a painful situation.

"

Double dirty Martini, make it Belvedere, extra dry
it'll soothe my doldrums, on my way to a good cry
I didn't see it coming, you left me high upon a soar
blinded by the light, had no clue what was in store
you dropped me heartless from the sky like a B-52
no concern at all, a mere bug scraped off your shoe
should have stayed home that night, ignorance is bliss
spying on you and my best friend was a big,  fat dis
I used to be the one that could make your motor purr
hindsight 20/20, now all I can think is....................
Sweet merciful crap!  I sure do miss her!!

Okay, I don't know what's more funny...that last line or that Baby saw two...count them TWO...Sex In the City movies. How the f**k long have I been asleep? *laugh* Great stuff here, Frieda. I'm telling you, though. Try Chopin. (I do like Blevedere, btw) (Or Platinum, if you're on a budget) ;-)

Haha the last line cracked me up :P
This poem has to be a favorite for me :D i loved its elusiveness, and then the quirky signature Freida P ending was the icing to the cake :) or the cherry to the Martini

I don't know if laughter is the best medicine but I suppose it's healthier than alcohol...I like how you've countered tears with dry wit here...you may owe your muse a drink for this one ;P
