Rock It Bye Baby

Rock It Bye Baby

A Poem by Frieda P

  I want to remember
            a past with Sweet Peas

easy breezy summers
& mazy, lazy days

wading in the pools of curiosity
childhood laughter
          echoing from the trees
jumping fish and frogs
         collide to do a dance

 Prancing along the rocks
                  brilliance of cobalt blue
skimming stones
                    to watch them thunder
my mind drifts
         like a swing
 over the sea

Pearls of raindrops
              start to cascade
catch them
              on the tongue,
                 they taste of awe

chrism's of rock candy
              plummet from the sky

_THE WINDS OF WINTER IMPLODE MY FANTASY_

                reality as stark bluebell's child
                     with pitiful saucer eyes

rock it by baby is not a lullaby

Like waking from a dream into bad reality! The beginning pulled me in, with your vividly images of those lovely innocent days... Then a winter slap in the face!! Wake up! You're an adult now!
I think we can still find those moments though... I hope. And yeah, i never understood why anyone would sing that dark lullaby to thier child.
Wonderful Frieda!

I almost feel apologetic for having a normal healthy childhood. If I had known it wasn't that way everywhere, I could have saved some to share.
Thought-full write.
