One & the Same

One & the Same

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Humanity in us all....

"
What do we really know
                of our fellow man
can we see beyond
               the elegant facade
are we aware of his mission
his strife
when one is sardonic,
               illogical or bereft
do we turn away
or can we feel their pain?

We all live
in our own little salty cocoons
        not all are privy
              to our secrets & sacrifices
   taken into consideration
            when times are bad
put on a smiling front
                     or shoot someone down
it all comes from a place
                   we keep deep within

Keep in mind
               everyone is living
 in their own moment
we are all one and the same,
                                yet very different
the villain, the hero,
                     the person next to you
       differing temperature scopes
we all bleed red and blue

 look past the caustic scars

'let kindness be our fortitude'

 ~let humanity in~

I like this poem. I try to cut people some slack, when they are rude to me because you just never know what they are going through. By the same token, I have hoped for the same from others, thinking, oh, please, if you knew what was happening in my life! But then I think I am asking for special treatment. A lot of women are that way, they will be nicer to others than themselves! This is a subject not written about often and you did a great job with it!

I love this Lamis Dachwali painting
as for your poem, well this is extremely high minded and philosphical and reads like a professional pamplet, I really enjoyed, thanks

Thanks so much Dalia, much appreciated.
Aww. This poem was very special and inspired and I truly enjoyed reading it. There are a lot of deep truths shared and expressed through this poem. I wish that more people could understand.

Amen...
Oh, this poem made me remember what I just learned from my biology class. I can relatively relate this to selective gene expression where our cells are composed of the same genes but the difference lies whether they will be activated or not, regulated or not, and expressed or not. Homologously, like humanity, we tend to only act when the situation rings as an alarm to us. We limit ourselves to helping others thinking that we are very much different when,in fact, we all have genomic equivalence. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem. I'm glad I read this.

Not enough alarms going off apparently, thanks for your thoughts Margarette.
