Red Umbrella Days

Red Umbrella Days

A Poem by Frieda P

Will you love me through
 blue moons
through precious sunny skies
will you be there
 when the rivers run dry
will you treasure my every mood
take me
 for better or worse,
      when all my scars
                have been viewed
will you still pick me wildflowers
                in december
when the winter freeze
                captures the warmth,
or will your love go
                the way of cooled embers

Will you love me rain
                     or shine
can I count the poppies of your love
trust that you'll remain
all mine
if i share my red umbrella
        will you promise never to
              rain on my parade
will you always & forever
...be my fella

No man could say anything but yes to such an endearing question put up in such a loving and beautiful way. This is one of your sweetest poems Frieda. It's so romantic and stirring.

Now that's a shame, what's life without a few surprises?? It just wouldn't be as interesting haha

Oh it's still pretty interesting, just nothing would shock me at this stage of the game...!
To love someone means being there through good and bad... and since the good times are easy it is during bad times that we learn the true feeling of them and us.

Thanks Marie.
I like the diclosure of fear and unceartainty here. The fact is, that those we love will let us down. They will "rain on my parade". They will never treasure your every mood all the time, for ever and ever... We submit to the failings of others when we choose to love. Love is not perfect, it just doesn't let the imperfect change it's value. Yes, at times the "poppies of your love" will be counted and recounted. The umbrella will be shared and cherished. Will you return to these moments when the "winter freeze captures the warmth"? I think that is all we can ask for... The last line is the real test because it is a choice and not a feeling and it is something we can demand of ourselves and our lover, "will you always & forever ...be my fella".
Full of emotion and well expressed longing!

You must know by now that I'm a sucker for nature, especially nature in transition...who would not want to be your fella? ;P

How can he not? Love is ingrained in this write. You just spilled your heart to the one who holds the answer. I don't think he would be a fool to rain on your parade. This is wonderful. Well done!
