~Sweet Misery

~Sweet Misery

Sweet misery~

you tempt me, nothing lasts forever,
consumed by the thorn of your roses
breathing in the essence of toxicity
your poison was my antidote
flipped me over in my time of need
was such sweet misery to be consumed
i breathe you in to get the full effect
dizzy with excitement, reeling inside
yet, I know it'll be my demise
i drank you in like a darkly nectar elixir
there is no cure for lusty resolutions
i die a thousand deaths...

This poem makes me think about how some people are drawn to broken things, and want to help fix them. Those same people are often broken themselves and prefer to help others with their problems rather than deal with their own. Sometimes though, in the fixing of others, we succeed in helping them but get left behind and further hurt ourselves. Sad but true, the glutton for punishment that some of us are. There are some strong lines in this one Frieda and it is thought provoking because of it. Well done.

A natural attraction to shattered people, who repeatedly throw your character into a cycle of misery and pain despite your character wishing to help. I admire this.

Beautifully penned. I particularly iked "consumed by the thorn of your roses". This is a work of maturity. Thank you for sharing it.

Your words describe it wonderfully. We do love to hurt so good, don't we?

Yes, silly us, thanks Barbara....
Yes, we do die so many deaths... in love and in sorrows. I like the simplicity of this write. You did not puff up the lines with lofty words, but rather you filled the poem with your heartfelt experience. I like it when you write like this. Very enjoyable and relatable.
