~Butterfly in Heaven

~Butterfly in Heaven

A Poem by Frieda P
"

A collaboration of music & poetry, piano composition by Jack, for which I will be eternally grateful. Thank you my dear friend with my whole entire heart. From me & Lee....♥♥

"

I am but one lone butterfly
set forth on the sea of my accord
took flight on a moonbeams prayer
salt had stung my fragile wings

sunlight had parched my soul

I wander a'flutter stormy nights
   searching for the reasons       why
in surrender's darkness there is light
      whilst angels whisper my name,
all the while I'm still here & there

Gorgeous description Frieda, the imagery is of a strong metaphor steeped in personal essence. This is a beautiful piano piece as well Jack, you are a man of many talents. I can see it being played at the beginning or end of a film, or sampled to create some more contemporary music styles. Well done the both of you.

Thank you so very much Leslie. I am happy you enjoyed this.
Could it be that heaven is a metaphor and the butterfly represents the music notes, fluttering high and drooping low into the great expanse of beauty contained within a music piece?

Thanks so much Leandro, the music really completes it, glad you enjoyed this one...
I've purposely saved this for my final review of the night...that fluttering butterfly at the end is enough on its own to make me want to cry the rest of the night away...we're all searching for the reason why it's so necessary to surrender to the darkness before we're allowed to claim the light...maybe that's why we need those angels...they are our guides, the ones that allow us to be here and there at once...I just want to give you tightest bear hug possible when I read these things...you are strong my dear, and will continue to be...it's embedded in your soul. xo

Read the title earlier in my RRs, and waited a while to read. This is simply beautiful, and there is a promise to the words and music -

whilst angels whisper my name,
all the while I'm still here & there...

A collaboration that involves more than two poets, and one that touches the soul...

My pleasure, completely.
well either Jack is playing so softly that it is inaudible, or Britain is too far away.....NO SOUND....Great words though, I have no idea what IT means but I have come to learn that poetry needs several reads to fully take in its depth...You are a star..and Jack needs to play LOUDER

Hahaha, there's a poem in there somewhere.....
" searching for the reasons why
in surrender's darkness there is light"

such a questioning and mystery is felt here. almost feels like this butterfly could be a symbol for a person searching for themselves "here and there"

lovely collaboration! music and poetry are a perfect harmony.

you two working together is a wonderful thing!
I closed my document, sat back, stretched, and thought...to cafe or not to cafe...I decided to cafe, and I am so thrilled I did. Thank you, Jack, for the PM telling me this incredibly beautiful collaboration was posted, and thank you Frieda, for just being you...the words are stellar...the music is...breathtaking. I am shelving this one. Is it corny to say you make beautiful music together? Tough s**t. You do. xoxo
