Wafting Wildflower Musings

Wafting Wildflower Musings

A Poem by Frieda P

You whispered so gently when you tucked violets behind my ear
as we writhe on a bed of windswept  poppy petals,      the earth moved
the sun shone on your face whilst the moon dipped in our sighs,

that was the last time I felt your warmth aside me
yet in the stirring chill of unfurled dark November mornings,
I can still smell the wafting scent of wildflowers in my hair

This is so heart wrenching, stunning and just beautiful. There is so much emotion to it.

"as we writhe on a bed of windswept poppy petals, the earth moved
the sun shone on your face whilst the moon dipped in our sighs,"

-- wow Frieda, you write some amazing lines that just blow my mind.... This is what I call perfection.

Your writing is soft and gentle.Potent. I can almost smell the violets and poppies .
It is as if the person has gone forever. A lovely poem .Sad thought tho, gone forever. So good we have our memories.

Thanks Pete, nice to see you're still around.
This feels like a goodbye of sorts. The memories will always linger. I like the soft images you presented here, Frieda. Lovely and sad. Angi~

The images you bring forth in this are achingly beautiful, Frieda. November winds whisper in your words...

Grazie mille Rita....jazzed you enjoyed.
If you've ever wondered why it takes me so long to comment on your work, it's because I always save your pieces for last on the days I devote to reviewing. There are a number of reasons for this, and I'm sure you know me well enough to be able to cite them ;P November just became a lot more ominous to me. I'm reminded here of how hard it is to say goodbye, be it romantic, or familial, or any other circumstance. Still there is always a haunting beauty in your words that grabs me by the soul and doesn't let go for a while after they have been read. You are indeed a kindred spirit Mrs.R.
