If I could fly~

If I could fly~

A Poem by Frieda P

If I could fly to you on butterfly wings

I'd take a leap of faith to meet you on the other side

touch within your soul's grandiose absence

hurricane's darkly blitz'd residuals brought

hydrangeas' sapphire rains

you chang'd the rhyme in your demise,

empty heart flutters in this sadness of illusions

'Love you to the moon and back' & 'round Jupiter’s stars

sweet reminisces of once upon a time's presence

Oh Frieda, this poem more than any other poem, I've read, tucks at my heart's strings, with it's lament of what was lost. Especially, after a close friend near brush with death, after a major stroke, on February 14th, and sequential three seizures, as an aftermath of the stroke. I wish i could fly up there and bring her, back, so the two of you, could have more time, together. Thank you, for sharing this very personal poem, with us.

This is beautiful. The longing deep. If such possibilities existed the sky would be filled with butterflies I think. Your use of the butterfly resonates in my heart and I wish it were true for you to fly and visit for a time, both of you free from this human coil so that you could each comfort each other.

I sense overpowering yearning. Although the other lines gave a beautiful imagery, the last line was moving. "sweet reminisces of once upon a time's presence"-- I wish I was the one who wrote this line first. ;)

Imagery is what you do best with words Freida...this is a beautiful example!

Kind of reminds me of Frank Sinatra. He was one of the coolest celebrities ever so it's a good comparison

Thanks so much Michael.
How hard it is to live in a world that no longer contains those who we love...how impossible to get used to living every day without those little, personal touches that only that person understood...
I'm not sure if my tears are for you, and your loss...

Or for my own...
