I tread softly upon your legacy ~

I tread softly upon your legacy ~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

"Can I show you what you are for me" ~Evanescence

"

I tread softly upon your legacy

angel of mine with broken wings,

traces left behind in soft whispers

the best of times gone awry,

when you whirl through my head

soaring on kaleidoscopic tranquility

wrapped in lavender zephyr sighs

dancing on clouds of ethereal hope

carefree and peaceful without worry

floating above lapis forbidden skies

like a effulgent butterfly haunting me

in the darkly mindless hours of night

when the haze clears my conscious etchings

       you flutter amidst my words

exhaling ephemeral moments of poetry

swirls of splendiferous opulence

dreams beyond my comprehension,

I escape to heavenly dimensions

'drips of moonlight washing over me'

lingering in this stately haven of intention

Frieda, you wrap us in lavender zephyr sighs and lapis forbidden skies allowing us to whirl with and within the chaos of fluttering butterflies emerging from the book of your sorrow and we may not know all that you feel inside, we want to stand by you inhaling and exhaling the moments of your poetry... Frieda this writing you do is excellent in its emotional depth as well as just plain out right beautiful, expressive artistry... loved the song and graphic... did you notice the blue one on the right, me singing your poem, sorry, you drew me in... ~~redzone

wishing you well best Frieda ever :) this is a soft delicate remembrance ... i always enjoy your "poetic license" and rich (almost opulent) use of the language ... your poem lifts those butterflies to flight before my very eyes ... and the music gave me a "moment" as well ... so nice to read you always

Grazie sweet petulia....x
This is sad, I guess its for your sister. I know she is happy and looks down and smiles when she reads your poems. May her legacy forever live on

I hope she's smiling Cassie, thanks so much my friend.
This seems to bare close to sadness and a feel that one is upset...is this the way it is?

A longing and a sorrowfulness in this poem -- it feels to me like a grief poem. Beautiful font.

Thanks so much for your kind words irish.
There is a sense of struggle that permeates this piece--a certain desire to pin something down, to clear a pathway through the "haze" (13) and fix your grasp on something tenuous. It is almost Faustian. And beneath, I perceive something that resists being expressed despite the narrator's best efforts, hence the exotic vocabulary. I feel as though there may be more than something personal here, so I will resist allegorizing too deeply. In either case, an interesting piece.
