Darting Betrayal

Darting Betrayal

A Poem by Frieda P

Darting 'tween raindrops
to rid the abrasive tears
   blindly seeking resolution
in braille's austere posture
desert wastelands slay'd
     my intuition's austerity
couldn't see through the fog
   to an ambivalent heart
my voice stifled in stippling words
rasping in ambiguous thunder,
nothing could dislodge indignation's
 voice'd rant of inauthentic regret,
 started out a tempered debate,
 ending in loathsome hate ...
 a sinister cloud formation
paid no mind to your snide smile
within your blustery glare,
no breath in this disfigur'd swallow
      placed your verbal sword
          upon my chest          carv'd
    discontentment upon my breast
hell to pay in this raucous quest
lost my way, at storm front's door
only the pouring reigns landing
 in a dry eye'd resignation,
     could ease the pain to
         make sense of this betrayal

Betrayal can come from many places, friends, family or a special loved one, but no matter where it originates it always manages to dislodge the heart causing it to crack. In some cases a little love seeps out, some cases a lot and in some cases all of it. My dear Frieda, your beautiful poem today speaks loudly to me. Your words send a message from deep within your heart and it is heard.

You construct monuments to your thoughts with poetry. You chisel out every tiny facet with your artisan's talent and thrill me every time I visit your world. Bravo!!!!

Failing to see the true intentions because of the foggy atmosphere, which may or may not have been caused by your initial trust in the person in the first place. Betrayal soon follows, and the parting words take to your chest and shred your innards quite painfully, cracking your trust and leaving it disfigured for you to fix as much as possible. Stellar, Frieda, keep it up friend!

Betrayal sucks! The only good thing about betrayal is the poetry it can produce...
Like this masterpiece...beautiful.

Indeed, denial within a relationship is not the most idyllic of situations to find oneself in, and can be hazardous to well being when the cockerel inevitability comes home to roost !

A riveting read, up there with a Jackie Collins at her searing best !

Betray is the worst kind of feeling and your are right on how you ended it.

Back stabbers are right next to you and you must beware of them! This is written very well and hits home for sure!

I'll say one thing Mrs.R, I know who to come to when I need humbling...you throw more images and scenes into a piece than I would come up with in a month...the poetic well from which you draw this abundance of devices is bottomless...every poem is rife with an incredibly wide variety of images, yet you always make it work, every time...there is never any doubt as to what your message is, or how you are feeling. There is little else I can say that hasn't already been said...I never believed that any writer I would ever meet could be this good...xo

Betrayal is a very strong emotion. It can work with other emotions such as anger, disappointment, loneliness, etc. This write is filled with the power of the heart and all the feelings incorporated with the betrayal felt. What a stunning and emotional write! xo :)
