Poetic justice myths

Poetic justice myths

A Poem by Frieda P

dark blank pages, in my soul's view
written in reasoning's default
Greek tragedies off the ledge
calculating a mindless scream
whispered under dispensation's breath
climbing the allotted wall's ballot
of poetic justice's myths
indulgences of the spirit kind proselytized
dealing out awards for time shares
permission granted, courtesy of unrest
brass tacks on the deck of substance
matters not the actualization
real world spun on a dime
leaving no time for still life's induction
corruption in tradition's regulations
installation's selection institutionalized
confinement in loss of gray density

nothing lasts forever, so says the rain...

You are definitely back Mrs.R...your poems are always the toughest for me to review because it's so hard to find the words to articulate how they make me feel...you know I hold your words close to my heart though, I always have...I couldn't help but smile at the Greek tragedy reference ;) The last line is a knockout. What more can I say, you never fail to enforce the reasons as to why you're my favourite poet :) xo

I like the way this starts with the "dark blank pages." It sets up the possibility that it's being written in a palette of day-glow ink beneath an ultraviolet light. A mind on the ledge of insanity, "calculating a mindless scream." Whoa! ...gives me the shivers. Then there is this segmented worm:

real world spun on a dime
leaving no time for still life's induction
corruption in tradition's regulations
installation's selection institutionalized

..it writhes as though in need of "institutionalized confinement." It defers burrowing into that "gray density"; perhaps because it's hard to swim in - and besides, it talks to the rain and "nothing lasts forever" - "so says the rain."

It's that voodoo that you do so well, Frieda!

Thanks so much Starrleena...
I would have better understood this poetry if it had been punctuated. I have trouble reading a continuous flow of words without stops or capitalisations. Not sure what the message is.
Sorry can't give a better comment.

I don't tend to use a lot of punctuation in my poetry, appreciate your critique and reading M E...
There is no poetic justice.

I hear ya Baby...thanks.
Love your use of metaphor, as always. This is a deep piece which anyone with a realistic point of view regarding the world and humanity can relate to. "Dealing out awards for time shares" is classic!

Thanks for your kind words Ssadd.
Frieda, this poem takes the mind and soul on a journey, a search for truth and sanctuary in a world full of platitudes... and yet, we find hope in the rain... Amazing poetry.

Grazie mille Rita, I'm so glad you made that connection.
I read the whole poem and I think I am too rookie a poet to review a masterpiece like this.
