~ endless breath of silence

~ endless breath of silence

A Poem by Frieda P

A moment in bittersweet crystal clarity

memories of glory days gone by

         familiarity of scent and touch

indulgences of passionate nectar'd skies,

wildflower meadows and body quiver sighs

translucent reminisces of love's twists & tangles

sacred promises torn awry in duplicity's grasp

under a darkly full moon's daunting disclosure

rendered in sounds of hopeless tear soaked passages

forgotten love notes written of inky illusions

neatly wrapped in tissue paper delusions

stormy weather's threats upon spirit's token of mourning

a final endless breath of silence as it's put to rest ~

death's conclusion does not become the tender heart

Death does not become the tender heart; a profound and heartfelt ending to the nostalgia that had built up previous to that line's deliverance that seems to reassure everyone that we do not become death when we die . . . Our actions, memories, experiences will always be shared amongst those who had shared them with us, and we become our moments instead of just death.

Lovely ending, it was truly thought-provoking.

When we no longer hear and sense someone we love it is a devastation. Love the final line it is a killer!

You are a great poet. And for someone that has little interest in poems, that's big coming from me.

Beautiful, I love the imagery in your poetry

That last line, wow. Powerful and so very true.

The imagery in this piece is so vivid. I could see all the detail play out before my eyes as the death/loss of something or someone rips through my heart, leaving me breathless, cold, and utterly alone.

At least, for me.... xo :)
