Exhale Poetry II

Exhale Poetry II

A Poem by Frieda P
"

For Lee ♥

"
Butterfly haunts me
flutters in the darkest of night
when the smoke dismally cleared
all that was left was a still photograph
no breath to be had, no words to be spoken
perched upon my affection where no one can see,
all the secrets that taunt my scarred soul
our story's final chapter closed too soon

Left behind in your spirit reminisces
like an erratic zephyr, they twist my mind
nothing sacred in how you fled the atmosphere
I oft wonder have you found destiny's redemption
as you floated aimlessly from this earth
etching markings on a sky of colorless clues
surrendering only in my dream's illusions
still tracing the dusky painted haze
all that's left is to exhale poetry

Seriously hurts my heart to read this, Frieda...

It's the pain that flows through the vein of your poetry, which I find the most endearing...

"I oft wonder have you found destiny's redemption
as you floated aimlessly from this earth
etching markings on a sky of colorless clues

surrendering only in my dream's illusions
still tracing the dusky painted haze

all that's left is to exhale poetry "~ This moved me to the very core...

Stunning....~xoxo~

This is beautifully tragic, to have things unfinished that will always be unfinished. Butterflies are symbolic of transformation and rebirth, perhaps another stage in the evolution of existence. It's wonderful that out of pain and loss, something as lovely as this poem can be born. I see the word "redemption" used quite a bit in poetry, but ultimately I think we can only redeem ourselves. I'm sorry for your loss. Penny

OMG..... I had to calm myself before typing.... My hands are SHAKING.... I am going to start with a big ole southern ((hug)) and go from there.... trying to steady my heart, my head, and my hands.....

It may be scarred Frieda, but it is one of the most beautiful souls I have had the pleasure of knowing.. I am so choked up emotionally over here, not sure I can even think coherently to type what I wanted to say.. there are no words to describe how breathtaking this piece is.. absolutely stunning...

I am so sorry for the loss, and cannot imagine the haunting that it does to not only your mind but your heart... I do know what the other side feels like as I attempted once and saw the damage it did to my sister... Life isn't easy and those demons can take over... it takes courage to overcome such profound damage and pain.. and I have seen that in your spirit ma'am.. along with the most gorgeous heart, sharp wit, "moxy", sweet humor, and the ability to weave magic with your pen... I cannot presume to know what happens after a soul leaves their body, but I can know that she would want you to be happy...

Just know, girl.. that if you ever need a silly giggle, a serious heartfelt ear, a sassy shoulder, or a dance partner, or hell a wild night drinking partner... I am here for you.. sincerely and wholeheartedly.. ((hugs)) and sloppy wet kisses.... ewwwwwww... you have rubbed off on me.. shame on you... This is hands down one of THE most moving pieces I have ever read...

I am thankful that you are able, during an always difficult time for you, to exhale such beautiful poetry. Some times, to temper the pain (never stop), we have to pause our concentration on things of the heart, EXHALE, and continue on as best we can. I always find writing to be that catharsis for me... I can't write such flowing lyrical lines as you seem to be able, but it helps anyway. I absolutely love the image of a still photograph perched on your affection that only you can see. This is such a beautiful gift of words an images. You do so well when you exhale... especially poetry. Remember, I'm still over here smiling at you!

You do a wondrous job portraying the stillness of your world due to inflicted pain from the past that still lingers around and haunts like butterflies, a romanticized pain, perhaps. Pain that seems to hurt yet you want not move on due to the chance, just the mere existence of a chance that things might change for your favor, that your desires might come true, that what you're wondering about right now could have a surefire answer. Well done on this piece!

You have expressed your emotions in this poem with perfect imagery. I can trace the flight of the ephemeral butterfly from endearment to endearment. I was inspired to write this tiny gift poem for you:

Memory Traces

The flight of the butterfly
in the dusky haze
leaving traces low then high
makes my sad eyes glaze.

So many questions left unanswered when a loved one dies...and especially when it happens by their own hand. Poetry can help us through. It is the catharsis for many, Frieda. The heartfelt pain in every line of this one punched me in the gut. Lydi**

I knew I would cry even before I read this. Part of these tears is for your pain and tragic loss but another part is for the love I see. And its that love for her which shines even in the darkest moments. I know without a doubt she loved you just as deeply. Your poignant words will linger in my heart for some time...hugs xo

Bad timing for you my friend, I know, much appreciate the visit, you have my heartfelt thanks. xo
Wow, this was absolutely, flawlessly gorgeous and heart wrenching. I could feel the emotion cascading from each word I read and was pulled into the whirlpool it created. Fantastic work my dear, I know they will appreciate it, as they look down upon you to watch as you spin your words into art.
