~ celestial circumnavigation COLLABORATION~April & Frieda

A Poem by Frieda P

Sullen butterfly angel,
            in darkly chained wings
  her thirst for freedom
 never quenched,
 her cravings unqualified for flight
desiring to soar high above the constellations
planted in a world of woes & dread instead
  black raven,
her only ally in silence's gloomy prayer
paying for the sins of the father,
 mystic moonlight’s melody
          aims to soothe her soul
  yet somber shadows obscure
   spirit’s faint flicker of hope
           dying from destiny’s betrayal,
made a wish upon an imploding star
   in hopes of redemption's surrender,
   earth stood its ground
 in her kaleidoscopic reflection,
  stillness within the gravitational pull
 of anguished atonement
abandoning resignations of despair
on murky ideations of lifetimes past,
 contemplating celestial circumnavigation
  delegating fate’s intervention
as the symbiotic crow flies in retrospect,
cawing feverishly
                   in sympathetic adulation

I've interrupted my own writing, not to mention my boycotting of this site, to be one of the first (for there will be many) to congratulate you two on an absolute masterpiece...tipsiness and two insanely-talented poets are apparently the recipe for a perfect collaboration ;P I'm not surprised in the least...I knew it was only a matter of time before you two misfits put your heads together for just such an occasion ;)

But as soon as I turn my attention to the poem itself, it ceases to be a collab in my mind...your voices were destined for poetic harmony...I knew that they would compliment each other sublimely when I first found out that this was happening...I see, hear, and feel both of you in this piece, but I think it would spoil the fun to point out exactly which elements of each of you I detect haha I'll just say that your combined personalities have meshed in a poignant and powerful piece of poetic bliss...I'm not going to cite certain lines or get into the business of dissecting it...everyone will have their favourite bits for sure...I will simply sit back and marvel at the beauty of my two best friends coming together to compose a piece that just commands the respect of every reader that approaches it...I can't tell you how proud I am of you two for accomplishing this...I was gonna suggest a group hug, but then I thought, no, this is your moment...enjoy it...I know that everyone who reads it will do the same :)

"made wish on an imploding star"

That line is a poem all unto itself. This is far more dark than i expected from you too. I guess i really don't know anything at all. Maddeningly rich and black on black

Thank you Charlie Brown..
Oh, Frieda and April, you know how to touch my heart. Chained winged angels aching to fly in the stars and ravens company to bestill her woes....this one was beautiful, artful, and the chains pulled me down through every skillfully crafted line. I read it without music, but yet now the music washes over me and it intensifies the beauty beyond words. Sadness can be beautiful, a combination that is difficult to pull off, yet you both mastered this one in spades. Thank you for this gift on a lonely Sunday morning. Be blessed you two! 100 points and a new favorite in my library vault. :)

Now who would have thought that two of my utmost favourite poetess' would come together and make a massive bang, I mean, I heard it all the way over here in Scotland. You two really are my fabourite and this is out of this world. I could even begin to guess who wrote what because your eons just seem to merge so perfectly - you both just compliment each other. It's really perfect.

The message behind the lines is so damn powerful and the imagery is so bloody vivid I'm like, holy cheese balls. Oooft!!!

I've tried to review this piece 5 times and each time my computer decided it wanted to dance so I dunno what it's doing now, anyway, I got it working now on my iPad. Lol.

Flip flops, oooooft & all that jazz!!xoxo

Bravo! Two talented poets with unique styles weaving their words together and the result, a dark and delicious masterpiece. It is impossible to pick my favorite line, I would be quoting the entire poem. Instead going into my favs to read again and again.
Bravo lovely ladies!

The two of you managed to weave a tapestry of darkness, woe, and despair, woven with the beautiful language of two pure hearts and minds. Oh, how I love a journey in the dark. Thank you, you two, a very enjoyable read
