    like a knife in the poets back

  not to mention,

             poetic suicide

perfidious act punishable

      in ostracized notoriety,

   appropriated hara-kiri

beware the caped crusader 

       fiend stealing scribbles,

   invisible holy roller ghosts

     holding cafe poems hostage,

poetic justice

    remains to be seen

I also decided to invest time in dedicating my thoughts to this peculiar dynamic. It dawn on me that I will be a bit pessimistic when it comes to Site enforcement mainly due to the fact that I have had experience and I know that very little can be achieved unless money , time and resources are put to it which is not something this site has in abudance. Left with pen a and paper so to speak it is yet another moment were one can show how one stands. In here it is very clear what Frieda is thinking about and what she believes in.

If you like writing then love it! and discover within you.

Rene@ I don't believe the lack of site enforcement has anything to do with money, time or resources. Other small free sites who don't even use advertising or use limited advertising enforce the policies of their sites. Many use IP tracking to prevent or at least encumber those banned from the sites. In my opinion the administration of writerscafe do not care, period. They make their money off this site putting forth the least effort possible and go about their merry way. I have flagged harassing behavior, song lyrics posted as poems in violation of copyright law, and just plain objectionable acts and never received one response from administration. Only certain writers who have a "connection" with administration are important to them. And so as you said we are left with our own words to take a stand.

Well Red so far about seven of his alliases are also suffering from poems dissapearing right left and centre. Your mouth only repesents the fervour of your passion. My nose is huge though so look on the bright side.....

To observe Jacob's development through this moment has been a thing of beutay and humour but let's not forget. Some of you, Some of us, We , I, when is all said and done love writing and amongst us there are those who are the Antigonistic. They don't love themselves nor do they care about anyone else needless to say then where does that leave their love for writing.

I have been writing for 40 years now. I saw my poetry publish in small press show-up elsewhere. I like the saying of Bob Dylan. "If you steal my work. Please re-write and make better." I believe with the internet. No safety net no-more. We must keep proper record and store/date all work for evident. Copyright is the best thing we can do for delicate and important work. I dislike thieves. Hard to I,D. Thank you for our amazing poetry.

Nicely done. Still so heated over this. Lots of people on HP had there's stolen and I wouldn't have even know about mine until Krissie pointed it out. The worst part is the guy was using other people's poems to prey on vulnerable women. How low... I don't know if it is the guy from here but who knows.

I do remember leaving a note book of s**t at Barnes and Nobles, a couple weeks later I heard about a homeless man selling what was phased as (really good but strange poetry), come to find out, it was my poetry ..bit my cheek, knowing it fed more than my ego.. i think i still have a mark...
it's like this.. you put all your effort and soul into these mint condition pieces, then some tourist finds a packed wallet on the street , JACK POT! but that fortune is a foreign currency, a pocket full of beautiful portraits with historical dates and no inclination of what it's really worth.. it's saddens me the exchange rate for such thieves will never know nor feel or give what was tolled..

Yes I do, and many here know who he is, hides behind multiple profiles, and does benign reviews in rapid succession. He's since deleted the poems, I've been informed, but there still out there on other poetry sites.

Anything you write is safe on no sites, even if copy was deactivated, there is nothing stopping a person from writing your words on a piece of paper, and posting them elsewhere, to claim as their own.

There has been a little storm the past few days, and a sudden disappearance of some poems that were pointed out as being published by other authors, on other poetry sites, years before they appeared here. I have been on WC for about 10 months, this is the first time I was aware of the issue, but that doesn't mean there has not been other instances.

What I discovered is that you need to search on multiple parts of a poem to flag up hits. The plagiarizer who stole my work stole both whole poems and sections of poems.

When I produce something, I'll happily host it and open it up to wider use.
