fool's game of contrived cake

fool's game of contrived cake

A Poem by Frieda P

Torn 'tween the you in me
      and the me in you,
lesser treason's dissension
seize the day's analogies,
   distinction mid sensibilities & logic
fell into the rabbit hole of yearning
debated a fool's game of contrivance,
   reasoning had no rhyme
           as time skipped the line
left to my own mixed metaphor
           devices in clear contention,
surrender an option only for
         the faint of consciousness,
karmic forces overwhelmed the cake
left out in the surrealistic reign

Your poetic sensibilities are strongly tied to your soul. I like the edge you give to poetic verse.

Right out of the gate… a stunner! Terrific lines "fell into the rabbit hole of yearning; debated a fool's game of contrivance,"
