What a Lie Does

What a Lie Does

A Chapter by Ethan Paz
"

A lie though small is great.

"

A good liar

Has a good memory.

A clogged up mind

He is washing his hands with lies.

His hands are ready for the duty

To which he completes with demonic success.

His mind is flooded

And others around are wet with lies.

I like the controlling idea of where this was going. I really do. I like lines 1-3 because it was great a introduction using contradictions to make the flow absolutely delightful.

Now, the fourth line, at first, kind of puzzle me, but then, thanks to Jen Burlock, I get it better. However, I think the last line could be a lot stronger. I don't know, it just seems like lines four and eight could be way stronger than they are.

It's good, though, because there are people who lie so much their minds get clouded and they are suddenly entangled in their web of lies. I really like, Ethan. And it's in a short, neat pack, which is a really nice touch.

wow- very powerful, and so true. I thought about something along the lines of 'washing his hands with lies'- but when taking a shower I began to wonder if you could wash away your sins of the day? And we all know one lie is covered over with another and another..... I like the picture to. Did you make it just for this poem?

I never like liars. Sooner or later they will get twist up in their own lies. A very good poem. You told a very good story. I like the ending. A excellent poem.

The second and third line speak the truth. I use to lie a lot, but I've changed a lot. I came through to my parents about things and I literally told them to punish me. The poem is extremely good *clapping hands* can't wait to read your next piece!
