What Does it Mean

What Does it Mean

A Chapter by Ethan Paz
"

A song describing the desire in wanting to glorify God.

"

I've seen you stumbling around

Without a song in your heart.

You don't have to fall to the ground

Oh, child, I will never depart

From you.

What does it mean to glory

To give glory to the God of heav'n?

What does it mean to glory

To give glory by my life?

I don't wanna be a hypocrite

Live apathetically in this world.

For I am called to show this fire

And live it as I should.

For I am called to show this fire

And live it as I should.

What does it mean to pray

Am I called to talk to God all day?

What does it mean to be humble

Am I called to give myself away?

I don't wanna live so miserably

And sit by myself alone.

Let loving You be my desire

Let me worship You at Your throne.

Let loving You be my desire,

And let me worship You at Your throne.

Oh! I don't wanna be stumbling around

Broken to the ground.

Lost in the darkness

Oh! I need to be found.

Oh! I need your love,

A joy that's fulfilling;

I'll place you above

Everything that I was proud of.

Oh! Teach me Your ways

Don't let me be in disgrace,

For I need You

I need You in my heart

All the day long

All the day long.

I want You all day long

All the day long.

Yeah, all the day long.

All day long.

Let me hold You tight (calmly sing)

Strengthen me to love You more. (calmly sing)

Help me to win the fight (calmly sing)

And You explore. (calmly sing)

I just have one request (calmly sing)

Help me to You adore. (calmly sing)

Help me to glorify You. (calmly sing)

Help me to glorify You. (calmly sing)

I've sensed You searching for me

Did you know that I'm not hard to find?

Forsake all your ways and you will see

That you no longer have to hide,

From me.

Author's Note

Ethan Paz
This can be sung. This perhaps took two hours to finish. No rhyme was intended in the second stanzas. I know it disrupts the flow, poetry wise, but I was trying to get a message across. The first stanzas and last stanzas is God speaking.

This was so fun to read. I love it. Every time you write something that can be sung, I really do sing along and try to make it into a hymn. You're a great poet and a great song writer.

Aw, I saw the pattern at the beginning stanza and the last stanza the from you to from me. I like how at the last stanza you hear God's words. That's very pretty.

Now, you probably know this, but poetry does NOT have to rhyme. So, don't apoligize for it. Maybe, you could use the nonryhming stanza as the bridge or part of the bridge to make the disruption a little better.

I don't know, but I really like the message this song has. The controlling idea is there and beautiful, wanting to know how to love God. Wonderful job.

Amazing! You do these songs very well, I think.

Nicely done also. You have a very inspirational way of writing. I think songs are harder to write because you have to write them in a way that they could have a melody. Yours reads like it would be easily sung. Nice job.
