bitter cup...world you no good

bitter cup...world you no good

A Poem by Reward 'premio' Mwale

Drinking grief outta the bitter cup
Life is sweet until it bitter up
She aint known his other side until he beat her up
She's thinking 'how come?' as she hits the floor
Her beauty turned to beast and he hits her more
She ducks his huge fist and it hits thedoor

Take a rollercoaster ride with him
No ups it just downs into the belly of the beast
Been to hell and back, he can tell you how it is
Flames crawling onto you Demons singing songs to you
Whats the colour of happiness?
He's seen it turn all to blue
Thinking 'drinking outta the bitter cup?
Is this all am gonna do?'

Little girl, sunken beautiful eyes, bare feet
Rugs hung on her bony shoulders, they barely fit
Her bed is cold, bare concrete
Just cardboard to cushion, she provides her own heat
No telling what the night is gon' do to her
She sits there, armless teddy in hand, the only friend true to her

Life goes on, on the other side of grief
Smiles flash timely, like everything's okay
We manage to maintain a hype all day
Who are we to concern ourselves with the grieven
What if life offers the bitter cup, do we see then
You see world! You no good
