Indigo

Indigo

A Poem by gabiaimee

Blue-gray fog condenses on the inside of my glasses as the cool

Beltane morning blends with your blue-flame breath.

Endless sky stretched out before us like wrapping paper

bundling us into our backyard of royal horizons and infinite highway. Our gift

was this moment, this comforting hush of oblivion in your arms.

The noon sky reflected in your cerulean eyes, irises of circular swimming pools

I’ve drowned in eons ago.

If they ever pull me out of the water they’ll find me still and cold, with a snow white face and berry

lips that floated eternally in a lifeless sapphire smile.

I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
