The Vatican Skipping Song

The Vatican Skipping Song

A Poem by Gandré
"

..it has to be said.

"

The pope slept in the Vatican

on bed of gold and pearls

some priests were in the garden

raping little girls

whilst bishops in the shadows

explored other joys

of chanting praises to the Lord

for chance to sodomize small boys.

Can  you imagine rabbits sitting in rabbit university

studying rabbit psychology and getting excited

when shown pictures of rabbit s*x?

Whilst the intention and format of your poem is brilliantly conceived.. i fear that as an ex convent school girl.. i must point out that rape and the like has been a tool used by each and every creed and country throughout history. Think the Crucifixion, think the Holocaust, think whats going on in countries all over the world right NOW as i type.

I love children, wouldn't hurt a hair of a child's head but... but.. but..

May we still be friends, Lara.. in spite of my frankness.. honesty .. just as you're entitled to be honest when you express your thoughts?.

When I read about these things it turns my stomach. And to know that these monsters are protected fires me up even more. Horrible people hiding behind religion and doing awful things to people who were taught to trust them; nothing worse

Tragic for that whole generation. It was a stroke of genius to pen it as a sort of childrens nursery song. That format really emphasied the point.

So deep yet so simple. I love the ironic plot.

This poem really comes as a jolt! Its so great that you have been able address current issues and at the same time invoke this feeling of shock and revulsion in just 8 lines. A clever footnote too! I would advise you not to change a thing.

Wow, this is a really hard topic for a lot of people. I like what you did with it though. It's like a slap in the face that leaves you thinking.
