To Dina

To Dina

A Poem by Mari' Emeraude
"

happy birthday to my daughter

"

With a gleam in her eye and a hand on ‘er hip
She utters defiance with poisonous lips

Twistin' the phone cord and flickin' ‘er ash
She talks to her boyfriend while countin' her cash

Throws on some makeup and heads out to Em's
She's goin' to smoke with some of her friends

She's flauntin' her confidence without thinkin' twice
Ignore her and you'll pay the ultimate price

'Cause she slays the world with a flash of her smile
I'm hopin' she stays in my life for a while
