Afterthought

Afterthought

A Poem by Gabrielle Lyn

If you loved me
I wouldn't be
an afterthought
to you

I'd be first on your list
when really I am the last
and you try to erase
what you have already done
and re-arrange
but it is too late

I had nothing to offer
except myself
so you took
what you could
what you wanted
all for granted
and I am standing
exposed
and bare
there is nothing there
because it was all crushed
in your hands

Hello, Gabrielle! :)
Those first four lines could come from my wife. Haha
#unappreciated
