A Poem by Gabrielle Lyn

I wish people would concern themselves
With their own affairs
Rather than intrude on mine
And continue to ask me if I am fine
When the answer is too much to say
I just do not feel well today

I need to find what the week took from me
And assess how I feel
If I do not keep things like this in check
I begin to unreal

A rope itself is harmless
It is put into hands
That know how to make it deadly

I must control the rope
And not let the other parts of me grab hold
Or I'll begin to lose hope
That I will ever be able to untie a noose

I do not mean to come off rude
But to be honest
You offended me first
Thinking I would want to take part
In things that would make me upset
Telling me I need to forget
About all those
Things I feel
