Speak Your Mind

Speak Your Mind

A Poem by G. K. Bostic
"

On Bigotry

"

Live!

Death approaches

as the fist of hatred

squeezes life from the heart...

tombstone's epitaph to read

'His heart was blind!'

Choking on fear

you slowly die

the death of bigotry!

Fight!

Escape the straight-jacket

of intolerance,

cough up prejudice;

let the expectorant

of wisdom and insight

force hatred out..

and gasp for life..

for hope..

breathe in tolerance

and live!

This is brilliant! I can see why you won the contest! It's very emotive, very abrasive and very detailed, it's deep yet poignant, a great poem!
