A Poem by Chaos
"

I won't forget.

"

Walking through the graveyard, I was saddened by the loss

Forgotten lives; grave markers covered with grass and moss

The kneeling impressions of the ones who use to come

are fallen to the years lost one by one

Fogotten soldiers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends

Their granite names carved by a strangers pen

remembered by a visitor on a weekend.

Sad and reflective of a world to caught-up in ourselves to remember those who have went before. Great flow and emotion. It paints a vivid picture of a combination of lonelyness and sadness. Perhaps death is not truely as bad as simply being forgotten.

It's strange what can inspire us to write. Most people would just walk through and keep going if it made them uncomfortable or sad. It's great that you pulled a poem like this out of your everyday life and observations. This a a well-written poem, and I can relate. Especially with the forgotten soldiers part, a good deal of friends joined the miltary after high school as a means to pay for college and some of them got granite stones instead.
Keep writing!

This was very touching and saddening.... This october I went to the graveyard with a couple friends and we picked it up and got rid of all the trash... I hate graveyards, they're so sad and not many people go to visit the graves... I personally find them to be pointless when no one visit's them.... Anyway... Great piece... :)
