Two Three Times Four

today,

one of those days,

a day where daddy dances
badly to Loggins minus Messina
circa the year of Orwell,

while hours earlier,

minus three cups of saccharin
brown energy drink,

he plays the role of
amateur chemist with
bottles and imitation
sweater cow milk,

all while she tries to
lock her eyes onto a
moving target,

making the basest
of associations three
months later minus two
months due to the truth
of prematurity,

and now she sleeps and
he’s had his coffee so the
muse of poetic bliss had
returned for once,

so it has, so it has, so it has

two three times four equals
who, what, when, where and why,

and this poem is the how

They really do keep us on our toes and so it goes we dance with father hood and hope we don't miss any steps. But sadly we know that we will and so we try only to do our best. And we know too that even that is not good enough.
