Why smile when I want to cry?

Why laugh when I can't try?

Why sing when there's nothing to sing about?

Why be silent when my heart wants to shout?

 

How can I love when I am experiencing pain?

How can I think when my heart's bleeding from an open vain?

How can I believe happiness will be here soon?

How can I see the world outside my window in my bedroom?

 

But,

I will believe in the future filled with gladness.

I will think happiness will replace my sadness.

I will love another again despite the fear.

I will sing a song when my happiness becomes clear.
