A Poem by Ghost
"

This poem I wrote for a friend, she lost her dad awhile ago, but he died in 2016. He had been overcome with dementia, so she had lost him long before. not actual poem background.

"
Ray

     (1927 -2016)

Tears that she weeps are the oceans that separate them,

Her goodbyes are like continents that divide the world,

And prayers that she prays travel to God's garden,

As for now they have journeyed their separate ways.

His battle is over now, he is no longer weak,

He is at rest in the arms of angels,

In the comfort of God and his wife Mae,

It is time to live his life in paradise as his work here on Earth is done.

His memories lay softly in the back of her mind,

As she cries, her tears are evidence that she misses her daddy,

But no matter what happens he will always live in her smile,

The greatest gift she will ever have are the dreams of him.

To look in her eyes, was to know he was her strength,

Her very best friend, the very rock of her solid, safe ground,

He was always there to listen, love, and defend her in everything,

Ray will always be her greatest love, her hero....

Here you show your deep powers of empathy. Most people write such a poem to describe their own experiences, but here you show that watching a friend go thru this is as palpable as if you'd gone thru this yourself. Any friend would love having a friend who is so understanding (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Very touching and sad. We know how hard it is to lose a parent. That was really beautiful to write about your friend.

it surely is a sad poem but at least the bond of a father and daughter is clearly displayed, a nice tribute for him
