One Breath

I'm holding on to a tiny space between death and love,

Where yesterday I searched for answers while reaching for tomorrow,

Finding, giving - one spirit, one mind, one heartbeat - all that awaits,

The words I write and live can never be contained.

Here, I am with new life within my soul,

And I realize that all I need is you,

Yet I await, with anticipation your soft touch,

Building to the moments I want to relive.

The meeting of our skin on skin is converted into trust,

Our eyes met and held onto each other’s gaze of excitement,

As we slept our dreams fused with reality,

A reality that I could trust you with my heart, my commitment.

Together there’s nothing we can't overcome, nothing at all,

Through you I find happiness, kindness, positivity and strength,

I find the fire that you ignite - rekindling the light between us,

And with each inhalation of air we take - we become one breath....

This was a great write, Ghost. I love how thorough your poems are and specific. This particular piece spoke volumes for theme of togetherness. There should be some level of spark to cause fire. The chemistry in this was undeniable. To imagine the touch connecting two people, the breath becoming one, the air light just for two. This sounds like a wonderful connection that many of us have never experienced though once experienced, something we should treasure. Great read.

This is the first piece of poetry of yours I have read. I found it quite breathtaking in its beauty. If only all relationships could work out this way and people did love each other until their dying breath. Trust is everything and without that there is nothing.
