shell

shell

A Poem by George turner
"

hope you like it

"
she lies broken in my arms
A mere shell of what she was
the woman I loved
the woman I needed

I take the knife from her heart
while trying to ignore the one in mine
I turn to look at the man
he is staring at his hand in disbelief

I see red

know he lies broken in my arms
A mere shell of what he was
the man I hated
the man I killed

I take the knife from his heart
while the one in mine cuts ever deeper
I look at the knife
I stare at it in disbelief

its my turn to become a shell
