Temptation

Temptation

A Chapter by Goddisia

Temptation

The first pull is so strong you feel the Universe electrocuted you

only instead of pain

sweet melody seeps throughout your body and mind

that puzzles you

you pause

calculate

Am I already committing a sin?

Is it supposed to feel so good?

What currency does the payment need to go through?

The mixture of knowing you want it and the fear you shouldn’t

that alone makes you gasp

reach for more

first in the dark rooms of your mind

intimate unseen free to explore the possibilities

of the forbidden

Then you feel the tension building up inside

your body foretelling the pleasures

you might choose to miss

you might ignore

doing the right thing

choosing blindness

choosing safety

But what if…

What you want is right for you?

What if that’s the taste that cannot be replicated?

Color that cannot be recreated?

Feeling granted only once in a lifetime?

What if?

Your soul begins to arch its way up and out

Reaching for the music

The rhythm that has already enveloped you completely

The last shred of willpower and hesitation

Bring about the greatest rapture

The knowledge of the good and evil about to be yours

A lone bubble of conscience

Exploding into million rainbows

The state of pre-bliss so deep

You could die without regrets

The power to choose

The luxury of being out of control

That alone pales the taste of the once- forbidden fruit

I spit my piece halfway bitten

The pleasure has already been mine…

We always have this struggle rather to resist or indulge our guilty pleasures. How can something that feels so good be oh so wrong. It is like dancing a salsa, teasing ourselves into a frenzy until we give into it from sheer exhaustion. I like how you explore these things showing us that battle to hold on or to give away, in the end enjoying it and respecting the decision that was made without regrets. Well done.

If I had to relive this write in my own world, I would say that we've visited the same bus-stop sometime in our lives and have read on the same schedule as posted; same vision, let alone understanding and felt presence, is all that must be said at this time from my behalf to you ...
...I hope that the reason live and tried,
Would not be hopeless when I die.

I feel you.

What if is a mighty big word in Life. You see it is also in the word Life.
All of our days alive everyone will ponder on the words what if.
I like this and the feelings you brought forward. I think it is very well written.
