Launch Sequence

A Poem by Thaddius

Blood sky breath nod head

hoot eye steam hot cry

rip blue sunrise salmon

run coyote doom, hawk thing I spy

blur garden ghost invading

pulse planet ripple enemy

orange orbs of falling dreams

starlight cut eternity

Gabor will see

do please go, hurry

it grabbed me out of dark

my love will worry

In theory, if the vessel

had a point, equal to the weight

of downward force, a thruster

with Chimeran vigor, violent

like the headless man on horse,

the fire fostered, not extinguished,

a cabin with cathedral walls,

my Lord I think it could be built

to shoot so high it never falls

to drown out kingdom,

render thread of roads,

shine light on heaven

and even Christ's abode

My lord it can be done,

of that I'm sure,

pray, dedicate my life to it,

and a thousand lifetimes more

Ignore the hype,

it's the same old program with a

different name

Stars and stripes

let's stay on earth

we have ourselves to blame.

Nineteen trillion just to test,

thirty more for the first flight

don't mention what it costs the man

who blasts into the starry night.

I wish, no,

it's too tight for those

in our united states of mind

Save the flying for your dreams,

maybe there you'll save our kind

A flash, pressure,

a feeling, pain.

Didn't think we could.

If we hadn't crashed

inside the dream

I wonder if we would
