Wurlitzer mind

Wurlitzer mind

A Poem by gram linski
"

A rough day at the office

"
Spin spin spin
There is nothing left
to hold onto,
My grasp has fallen
from the sky,
Even the clouds have
forsaken me,
Spin spin spin
I can no longer
bite the night,
With broken toothless
gums and grin,
Scream, if you want
to go faster,
Spin spin spin
The pulse of
blood in brain,
A thunderous heart
encaged in bone,
And the waves
and the waves,
Spin spin spin
Erratic beating muscles
and steel banded  skull,
Motionless, still,
untethered, at tidal whim,
And the tick tick tock
of nature's f*****g clock,
Spin spin spin

A rough day at the office indeed! Sounds like the wash cycle is stuck?
Kidding apart this flowing piece uses the repitition to demonstrate that trapped feeling as one is seemingly unable to control matters. The throbbing head you take home with you and still your head spins as work is still on your mind. There are several phrases that give the sensation of tension such as " I can no longer
bite the night,
With broken toothless
gums"
And as the clock ticks another work day dawns.

With a Wurlitzer Mind you should probably get an 'organ' transplant! As I read this I can feel the beat of a chant like Vachel Lindsay of old ("Congo"). This could be the reply to the wife when she asks, "How was your day Honey?!" Sounds like this office is due for a complete overhaul, or everyone given a sabbatical.

lol, Thanks again, the office was actually inside my head, so a sabbatical might be a bit difficult,

Don't you just want to stop the world and get off some days? Bad day at the office indeed, and I've had a few of those. Sounds like you need tea and sympathy. I like the repetition and your words make me feel Claustrophobic. Stop that spin cycle.

I think we all have days when we feel as though things are spiraling away, or out of control... It is also very encouraging when we come across something that reinforces that fact and makes ya realise your not entirely on your own.... Enjoyed and then some .... N

Can relate to this one big time Gram, exactly how i feel at present, trying to hold on to anything that will ground me again. And feel like I am slipping into a void of a pit, of despair and upset again. And trying with all your might to stop falling and gain control of me.
