Looking Glass

Looking Glass

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

"Looking glass"

feeling you peering
           i am
                   exposing

i sense your presence
          you ....
                     unknowing

i think you want
         something
                from  me.

i want to cover myself

              you
                  don't
                        know
me.

Here it seems we have yet another excellent literary creation to re-visit and drool over, over and over.

Ah' I have oft wondered what the voyeur must feel when their cover is blown and they realise that they are subject to direct scrutiny themselves.....Super, N

we tend to not want to let others really see inside us...we suspect they are looking for something to take not give...

that happens when we have been used often enough in life.

so few words precisely placed to make a really insightful poem.

This is a great poem. Even though it's so simple, its structure, message and wording has such an incredible impact on the reader. Thank you for penning.

Wishing to shield yourself from the prying eyes of those who would dare watch us from behind their looking glass, which they use to judge us ever so unfairly by our appearances. Another thing that stood out to me was the way you portray the lookers as hidden, a clear indication to me that points out gossip or faraway judgments aren't quite as harmless as it seems. You've done well.

No two dimensional mirror can ever capture the inner self but so often we look and do not recognize ourselves in it. Only we know truly who we really are. Our packaging changes and perplexes us but the mirror lies too because it only knows us superficially.

yes dear friend Icey ... thank you for stopping and taking time ... love your remarks
Staring into the mirror and realizing that a stranger is looking back... Who is this impostor wearing my eyes (but has someone else's grey hair, someone wiser's wrinkles...) We spend a lifetime getting acquainted... I like the thoughts your poem has brought, E.

Oh look, shiny stuff. ;-) Your mind works in mysterious ways E...I guess that's why you're a genius. I think we all see reflections of ourselves in others, scary at times or comforting reflecting back or into our souls. Whichever it might be....this is brilliant 'stuff'.
