Looking Glass

Looking Glass

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

"Looking glass"

feeling you peering
           i am
                   exposing

i sense your presence
          you ....
                     unknowing

i think you want
         something
                from  me.

i want to cover myself

              you
                  don't
                        know
me.

Here it seems we have yet another excellent literary creation to re-visit and drool over, over and over.

Ah' I have oft wondered what the voyeur must feel when their cover is blown and they realise that they are subject to direct scrutiny themselves.....Super, N

Hey if everyone else can, then so can I :-)
Hmm? very interesting how
different your poem is. I have a older poem
that's called Looking glass into life
Mine is more pain and looking into the looking
glass of the eye and one's life I was in a different
place when I wrote that poem where I never want to be again
thankfully I am myself again.

But this is interesting seeing
a different perspective point of view
on a looking glass I Enjoyed. Blessings

I saw A. Amos had viewed your poem
so came to check it out.

I commend you for the sophisticated structure, Einstein. Very few experiment with that and I see that you have done well in this piece. I like its psychological depth and its sweet simplicity. The mere idea of a "looking glass" is enough to intrigue my curious neurons. I'm still pondering about these lines "i want to cover myself/you/don't/know/me." It's abstract and mysterious. I don't exactly know why but those words struck me the most.

This reminds me of your poem with a line "science in your hair" and that was professionally crafted, too! Well done, Einstein!

no pits is enough ..right?! :)))
Brilliant sir! Well at least assuming that this is meant to be taken allegorically... if a mirror is actually thinking how much it wants to be covered than I for one must be dayum ugly, and second, I will never see a mirror the same way again. (oh my, was that a metaphor?) I like the structure you use in this, and the power that so few words can carry. I suggest going through this and making the structure more consistent, just because it is begging to define a new stylized form! Maybe go through it and adjust each line to have a certain number of words? Also... I love the way you end it with just a 'me', which almost makes me feel that the first line should start with 'I', just to maintain the pattern.

The looking glass can demand a lot more than we bargain for, that is for sure. Great style and psychological content to this piece.
