"Timothy Leary deary"

"Timothy Leary deary"

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

title taken from the song "Let the Sunshine In"

"Timothy Leary deary"

Live mind explosions
Silicious fricative hearts
Delirious sync

Sails full out beating
in winds set by moon, sun and water

Parents of the other generation
mystified in veneration

over children lost at sea
without the rudder of God's decrees

This, I think take a certain age and particular experience to understand perhaps a litttle more fully. There is a song by the Moody Blues, (not one of my favourites of theirs) from the sixties called Timothy Leary's dead. And one of the lines is 'We are all on the outside looking in.'
Strangely enough I am reading about Timothy Leary and Aldous Huxley et al at the moment and comparing the way we used to try and expand our minds with certain chemicals. Trying for a new way of thinking beyond boundaries. Or at least telling ourselves that we were not just Lotus Eaters.A theory that was in vogue then and still has relevance to me personally is the way that Mankind exists on various mental levels. The infinite, (God if you like) being the top most if such terms could be used to describe and perhaps hell, (again to use certain terms of reference) as the bottom. Our normal everyday concious thinking whilst still part of Jung's universal collective unconcious of archetypes is unaware for the most part of the other levels. We became more aware through our use of various pathways. Leary's mind expanding drug therapy being just one.
I find myself in full agreement with Vishuddha on this. And your phrase, (in a poem full of such) 'Delirious sync' rings so many expansive bells for me. Whether we were as you suggest lost without the rudder of God's decree's, perhaps, perhaps not. I would argue that the word decree would suggest that they were more the dogma of mankind and the generation you speak of was naturally looking for an escape.
In short a brilliant poem that as I said rang all my memory bells. Got to go and listen to some of my old hippy themes now.

My parents thought raise a child the way he should go and when he grows old he will not depart from it. Todays generation seems to be let them have all of the freedom they want. Just see what happens as marriages break up and kids are tossed around like filthy rags. Valentine

Each generation looks at the next and wonders how in the world they will make it. How can they see things so very differently from the way we did? I liked the celestial reference. Nothing is set in stone in our world. Things change through the years. Sometimes the changes are not ones we welcome, but we must accept them to a certain extent. Thought provoking words, E. Lydi**

We all need the guidance and absolute wisdom of God to direct our soulful ship towards His goodness and inner awakening. It all begins with submitting to His will and syncing ours to His. Of course , we have the free will to choose Him or not, to live our lives according to His will or not. And excellent poem, sir....

Your words and video combined make a powerful statement and certainly takes me back to that time and place when our young men sat in dorm rooms watching numbers flash across the television screen. It was a scary time as I recall for many. "What good is war for anyway"? Wonderful write my friend!

Nietzsche said god is dead - the church, the bank, the government, the military industrial complex all combined into one. "without the rudder of God's decrees" indeed. Let us be led by our history. We have been here before. Yet, the energy of the universe is spiral, always reaching for new levels. Timothy opened doors to new insights in the mind, new consciousness, new ways to think, oh so necessary for the drastic changes brought by the atomic, binary, digital, robotic world wherein physical matter has been mastered and we play with genetics and other planets. Has there ever been a time of such advancement and acceleration? "Delirious sync" Do we all travel together? Some sink in their heels and try to stop the passage of time. Our goals define our road. Where do we want to go?

Hi E :) Funny how all this nonsense stems around war. The great depression. The 60's, Kennedy, vietnam. Now Iraq, "terrorism, economic collapse, Jade Helm, ect. People are waking up...again. Thing of it is, why the hell don't we just stay awake? Why do we keep going through this s**t? Big change is coming. Hang on to your hat, my friend.

What a fun read! It can be said that we can expand our consciousness without finding the source of our conscience. Leary, and many of his followers attempted one way... who can really say if they succeeded. I tend to doubt that the "rudderless" souls, as you call them, that tried psychedelics found much to anchor them in a time of such great upheaval. "Jesus" was "just alright"... but God was still too much the authority figure to be embraced at the time. But, enough philosophy... your playful lines and delightful vocabulary were a treat to read!
