The Mummy

The Mummy

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

Ka, Ba and Akh are three different souls the Ancient Egyptians believed in ..for those of you that would like a little more information check this out .. http://myweb.usf.edu/~liottan/theegyptiansoul.

"
The Mummy

Mummy

Honest brutality in this dying.
Would you agree?
Reapers cutting edge dissecting
Mowing lineage with glee.

Ka

Fruitful symbiosis ensconced on
meaty walls entombed.
Seedling treasures imploring
from the womb

Ba

packaging an empty shell
pleading selfish need.
obstructed by the greedy.
ignoring innocent seed

Akh

highest of all attainment
living justly before the Hall
my life, my body and
most of all My Soul

Mummy

Mummy wrapped spices beleaguer
Disembodied heart and liver
Frees the dead                alive
relegating for profit ...another fetus shivers

You clearly have a way better understanding of mummies than I do my friend. But I really like this poem. It seems like it was written around the right time as well since Halloween is around the corner. Great work!

You only live once...or do we ? The diversity, beliefs and interpretations of what lies postmortem are as bizarre as they are fantastic !

A wonderful piece of archaic poetry..... ' Walk like an Egyptian ' as they say !

Hello E :)) I was on an Egyptian knowledge craze for a while years ago as well as the Mayan and the Inca. I love to dive into all the mysteries of life and living. Just read some stuff about synchronicity from Santos Bonnaci the other day on the origin and meaning of language. The human quest for immortality I will never understand. I'd much rather move on than stay in this "play it again Sam" "Reality". Did Nelson Mandela die way before they "mourned" is death, or was it my imagination? Did he get to die twice? lol We always forget what we know and life keeps repeating itself. Our empire is about to fall like all the others, including the "advanced" Egyptians...
I love my visits here, by the way :) Awesome place to sit a spell, my friend.

At first, reading this was an education - then that last stanza - eerie! Gave me chills, and made me read again. A few years ago, there was a Mummy exhibit here, and it was fascinating to think about the lives that once inhabited those forms. Your piece brings that fascination back. Love it, E! (oh, and "meaty walls entombed" - great line!)

wow firstly E - how much does an ostrich feather way - cos I reckon my heart is big and it's surely going to heavier than an ostrich feather which means it will be devoured by the monster - oh but wait - I am dead anyway so no matter right? and what a funny thing to leave pets and servants and food for people in the afterlife so those that give can too live well in the afterlife - it seems thee egyptians may have been missing the point :)

ahhh onto your words - I like the fell within the brevity - giving us a little slice of each Ka, Ba, Akh and the Mummy - brutality you say? well yes it does seem rather brutal to be judged at the end of one's life in such a fashion, death will become all of us, it seems the Egyptians wanted to add one final twist of worry to all those on their death beads .... lighten the loads in your hearts I say ... for you shall be judged.

Nice one E XX
